Murray 1695537 21-Inch 190cc 4-Cycle Gas Powered Single Stage Snow Thrower Reviews:
From extensive research of users reviews of these snow blowers, we find users have mixed views on these Murray snow blowers. On one side it seems to be quite capable of clearing snow falls of around 6 inches without problem and yet some people report it as being poorly built.
Positive comments are quite glowing about the Murray snow blower with one very happy user saying that it chewed through snow piled at least a foot high with ease, it’s easy to put together, it operates easily, and works incredibly well. Another satisfied user commented that it started the first pull of the crank and worked hard for two days! It used four tanks of gas doing his and his neighbor’s driveways and at times helped them to dig out from over 34 inches of snow and the build up caused by the snow plows that came through.

Negative comments say that this Murray 1695537 snow blower is built of flimsy plastic, before using the throttle needed adjusting, the auger drive belt was lose and needed adjusting but there were no instructions as to how to do this. This unhappy user said that you would be better off throwing the money in the garbage. Another user commented that this doesn’t appear to be a high quality item and that the rubber auger was too large for the housing and got stuck which required it to be filed down to fit. However, once he got his Murray snow blower going it dealt with 5 inches of snow fairly well.
We are torn as to whether we are able to recommend this snow blower. On the one hand it seems to handle the clearing of snow in excess of the manufacturers specifications and recommendation but on the other hand there do seem to be some build quality issues.
Our analysis is that this Murray 21-inch snow blower is clearly not designed for major snow clearing work and is built to do a job and not to impress with good solid build quality. If you are looking for a reasonably priced gas snow blower and have some basic mechanical skills then this could be just the gas powered snow blower you need but don’t expect too much in terms of quality.
